Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 11, 2026

Morso ("we," "us," "our") is developed and operated independently. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what rights you have over it.

1. Information We Collect

Account info:when you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. If you use Apple's "Hide My Email" feature, we receive a private relay email address instead of your real one.

Learning activity: courses you create, quiz answers, lesson progress, streaks, and achievements.

Uploaded documents: if you upload a PDF or file to generate a course, we extract the text and content needed to create your course. We do not store the uploaded file itself.

Device & usage data: basic technical data (device type, app version, crash reports) and product usage analytics to understand how people use Morso and fix bugs.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • personalize your learning experience and generate AI-powered course content tailored to your level
  • track your progress, streaks, and achievements
  • send optional push notifications (streak reminders, achievement alerts)
  • understand how people use Morso and improve it
  • fix bugs and crashes

3. Third-Party Services

Morso uses these third-party services to operate:

  • Google OAuth: authentication (sign-in)
  • Apple Sign-In: authentication (sign-in), for users who choose to sign in with Apple
  • Expo Push Notifications: delivering optional push notifications
  • AI providers (Google Gemini):generating your course content. We don't share your name, email, or account identity with the AI provider, only the topic or document needed to generate your course.
  • PostHog: anonymized product analytics, so we understand how Morso is used
  • Sentry: error and crash tracking, so we can fix bugs

We don't sell your personal information to anyone.

4. Cookies & Similar Technologies

On morso.app (our website), we use cookies and similar technologies for basic analytics through PostHog. You can control cookies through your browser settings. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in a cloud-hosted PostgreSQL database. Authentication tokens are encrypted and stored securely on your device. We use industry-standard security practices, but no system is 100% secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data at any time. You can delete your account directly from Settings in the Morso app, which permanently removes your profile, courses, progress, and achievements.

7. Additional Rights for EU, UK & Brazil Users

If you're in the EEA, UK, or Brazil, you also have the right to data portability, to object to certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We process your data based on your consent (for optional features like notifications) and because it's necessary to provide the service you signed up for. Your data may be transferred to and processed on servers located outside your country; we take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it's processed.

8. Children's Privacy

Morso isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. See our Terms of Service for our full eligibility policy.

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, everything associated with it, including your profile, courses, progress, and achievements, is permanently removed from our servers immediately. We don't keep backup copies of deleted data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of Morso after changes means you accept the updated policy.
